A knitting club has been organized for all area residents interested in knitting, crocheting and other crafts. See what's new in the crafts and share stories. Ideas will be discussed about knitting for various charities. The knitting club meeets on the first and third Monday of each month at the library from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. The club is free. New members are always welcome.

There are thousands of free technology resources and online tools. Al you need is an internet connection and a web browser. These applications allow you to do many of the things you used to need software to do - things like creating a document and editing an image file. The best part is that none of these applications require a download! Most simply require you to register with the site and login in order to use the tools. We'll take a look at some General Productivity tools, Office alternatives, Power Point alternatives, Microsoft Word alternatives, Inspiration (mind mapping) alternatives, Photo Editing alternatives, and Audio and Video Editing alternatives. Bring along your wishes to this class and learn how the Internet can fulfill them. The cost of the class is $10.00. You need to stop in at the library to sign up and prepay your class fee or call the library and send in a check payable to Palmerton Area Library to hold you spot. The class size is limited to 12.

Learn about Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Skype and much more! The social web represents a fundamental change in how we use the Internet. Instead of using it as a tool to look up information or purchase merchandise online, we are inserting ourselves into the web and using it to connect with other people. This change has had a far reaching effect that has touched a number of different areas from the use of social networks to create our own special place on the web to the use of wikis to collaborate and create a global collective intelligence and repository of knowledge.
The cost of the class is $10.00 for two sessions April 18 and April 25 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Stop in the library to sign up and pay or call and mail in a check payable to the Palmerton Area Library to hold your place in the class. The class size is limited to 12.
