Join us to learn the parts of the computer and computer terminology. Personalize your computer to work for you. Learn to set up your mouse, keyboard and monitor. Learn to work with the software installed on your computer. Work with Windows and installed programs.
The class runs for three consequtive Thursdays from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. The cost for the class is $15.00 and must be paid by cash or check (payable to Palmerton Area Library) prior to the course starting.

On Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00 - 4:15 PM, adults and high school students will be available to assist students from grades 1-8 with their homework assignments. Help for junior high students is from 3:00 - 4:00 PM. Help for elementary students is from 3:15 - 4:15 PM.

Students who attend must have homework assignments to complete or a school project to work on! Students must have parental permission! If you would like your child to take advantage of this opportunity, please complete the form found under the header Youth Services on the main page of our website or stop in at the library to fill out a paper form and return the form to the library as soon as possible.

This is not a one-on-one tutoring program, but an opportunity for students to complete homework, get help with difficult assignments, and work together with other students to complete projects

A knitting club has been organized for all area residents interested in knitting, crocheting and other crafts. See what's new in the crafts and share stories. Ideas will be discussed about knitting for various charities. The knitting club meeets on the first Monday of each month at the library from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. The club is free. Do you have an email account? Learn how to sed, receive, save and print email and attachments. Don't forget to bring along your email address and password to this session.

Join us for the Ninth Annual Quilt Show in the library. See the display of new and antique quilts, vendors, and basket auction. Meet Cheryl Hank a Certified Quilt in a Day instructor and watch her demonstrate quilting techniques. The show is sponsored by the Sew What Quilt Guild.
To exhibit new or antique quilts, call the library at 610-826-3424 or email at plapalm@ptd.net. All quilts must be dropped off at the library from October 5 to October 9.

There is prerequisite for this course of a basic understanding of computers.
Need to type a simple letter or note? Learn to use menus and toolbars to accomplish basic tasks including selecting / highlighting, scrolling, saving and printing. Create, edit, revise and fromat a document. Work with spell check, the dictionary, help menu and clipart.
Need to keep records and create a mailing list? Spreadsheets are an easy way to work with lists and data in columns. Learn how to make labels, work with tables, charts and spreadsheets.
The class runs for three consequtive Thursdays from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. The cost for the class is $20.00 and must be paid by cash or check (payable to Palmerton Area Library) prior to the course starting.
