On Saturday October 29, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, Autumn Jordon will be at the library for a meet and greet. 2010 Golden Leaf Winner for "Best First Book" and Romance Writers of America 2009 Golden Heart Finalist author Autumn Jordon is a quiet nut who has earned the title of "trouble" by her family and friends. Even her pets look at her with a cautious eye at times. Life is never dull in her valley surrounded by the beautiful Blue Mountains of northeast Pennsylvania. She's never bored as she has a long list of hobbies. No matter what Autumn is doing, she's busy dreaming up ideas to put her very believable characters of her romantic suspense novels in grave danger. Come meet her at a signing for her new release, In the Presence of Evil at the Palmerton Area Library on October 29, 2011 from 11 am-1 pm.

A knitting club has been organized for all area residents interested in knitting, crocheting and other crafts. See what's new in the crafts and share stories. Ideas will be discussed about knitting for various charities. The knitting club meeets on the first and third Monday of each month at the library from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. The club is free. New members are always welcome.

Volunteers will tutor your child after school on Wednesdays. If your child needs extra help with math, reading, spelling or any other subject, call the library at 610-826-3424 to sign up for this free service. Also call if you would like to volunteer to tutor.

Tail Waggin' Tutors, children reading to dogs sponsored by Therapy Dogs International, Inc. will be at the library every month on the second Saturday of the month from 11:00-noon. Free to all area childdren, but they must register ahead of time for a time slot. Practice your reading skills with no pressure.
