A knitting club has been organized for all area residents interested in knitting, crocheting and other crafts. See what's new in the crafts and share stories. Ideas will be discussed about knitting for various charities. The knitting club meeets on the first and third Monday of each month at the library from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. The club is free. New members are always welcome.

Tail Waggin' Tutors, children reading to dogs sponsored by Therapy Dogs International, Inc. will be at the library every month on the second Saturday of the month from 11:00-noon. Free to all area childdren, but they must register ahead of time for a time slot. Practice your reading skills with no pressure.

The annual Quilt show will be held again. Join use to view beautiful handmade quilts. Meet Cheryl Hank a certified quilt in a day instructor. Quilt historians will date your quilt. There will be a Chinese auction of craft and quilting supplies and kits. If you have a quilt you would like to enter in the show, contact the library for more details at 610-826-3424. Ticket will go on sale in September at a cost of $5.00.

On Friday October 21 at 11:00am Paul Sheckler will present a book talk about his newly released book The Hawk Knows. This is the second book of fiction written by Mr. Sheckler, the first being Come Back in 2008. He has also written six poetry books. While currently living in California with his family, Mr. Sheckler was raised in Palmerton, PA and received his B.A. degree in Journalism at Penn State University. The new book is about a Navajo couple who are striving to live the American dream. They cope with promise and tragedy. There is beauty and the lingering pain from war in Iraq, both climaxing on the Reservation. Copies of the book signed by the author will be available. Stop in for an interesting conversation with Mr. Sheckler.
